Hello Darling! New MOPS Blog and A Group of Moms You Need to Find...

Hey!  This one is for all the mommas out there!

I just want to make you aware of a brand new blog that was launched on July 1, 2013 called Hello Darling.  It's a blog written by the mommas over at MOPS - Mothers of Preschoolers.  They have inspiration, recipes, tips, DIY, and more to help, support and encourage all the mommies with young ones at home!  And who doesn't need help, support and encouragement as a mom?!?

MOPS is a regular meeting of moms throughout the school year to eat brunch, socialize, craft, study the bible and bond over motherhood.  MOPS groups are mainly sponsored and hosted by local churches, and each MOPS group sets their own regular meeting day and place.  I attend a MOPS group at South Hills Assembly of God that meets the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 9 am to 11 am.  You can find us on Facebook here.  The church that my husband and I regularly attend, South Hills Bible Chapel, also has a regular MOPS group that meets every other Monday from September until May.  You can find information about MOPS at the Bible Chapel here.

I personally love LOVE love MOPS.  It's an amazing time and place to meet amazing moms and have special, regular time when you get to focus on growing real true friendships and building a better you, not just refereeing fights between little ones and baby nose and butt wiping.  We always have fun.  Always.  Did I mention that there is free babysitting and amazing food too?!  Every. Week.  Yay!  :)  MOPS even has Teen MOPS and Military MOPS, meant to specifically cater to the unique needs of teen moms and military moms.  Can you say awesomesauce?  Here is a site where you can find MOPS near you!

I would advocate that you, oh mommy of little ones, should join some sort of group of moms to have some company during this chapter of your life.  There are so many questions, struggles, joys, and odd things that happen when you are a parent of a preschooler.  How valuable is it to have mom's who have "been there, done that" and moms who are currently going through your struggles to talk to and build relationships with?!?  Immensely valuable.  So join a MOPS group.  Join a mother's group.  Join a play group.  Join a breastfeeding group.  Join some regular meeting of moms that gives you the capacity to bond over motherhood, and make some amazing friends along the way.

Oh, and by the way, check out the MOPS blog, Hello Darling...  It's sure to be a dose of reality, sanity, and Jesus into the sometimes long days of motherhood!  And Lord knows, we all need some more of that!
